Refugee: (n) One who flees in search of refuge.

People are emailing news channels asking them to stop calling Gulf Coast residents refugees. Thing is, that’s exactly what they are. Does the term “refugee� make people uncomfortable because they consider it inappropriate or because it forces them to really understand a chunk of the United States as large as Kansas has been blown away? Would it soothe their nerves if we called them Displaced Americans or Children of the Storm ? As soon as my father is found, I’ll ask him what he wants to be called and let you know.
