The Senate Majority Tide is Turning October 10, 2005

This one put a smug grin on my face. From the Washington Post:

For GOP, Election Anxiety Mounts

With an unpopular war in Iraq, ethical controversies shadowing top Republicans in the House and Senate, and President Bush suffering the lowest approval ratings of his presidency, the waters look less inviting to politicians deciding whether to plunge into an election bid.

They should be afraid. After all the death and neglect and stupidity and cronyism, throwing Republican campaign money toward an election would not be a wise decision. Better save it for those tasty real estate deals soon to be had in New Orleans.

Democrats and their Mainstream Media Allies have been predicing electoral victories ever since the recounts began in 2000. And yet three crushing defeats have followed. I wouldn’t be counting those Freshman Senators just yet.

Democrats? Nope, there is no mention of Democrats above. But since you brought them up, (wink) they have a better chance than ever to tack those votes in their direction.. unless they screw up, of course.

Even the diehard Republican voters (myself included) cannot stomach the stench wafting from not just from the Gulf Coast, but Washington as well. What happened following Katrina, no, what continues to happen, is terrorism* wrapped in a suit and tied with a smirk. I doubt voters will forget this one.

*Terrorism: The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons.
